Quantitative Commodity Researcher & Strategist | New York | 5+ years’ experience
A leading buy-side firm is looking to hire a Quantitative Commodity Researcher & Strategist to join its team in either London or New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing short-, medium-, and long-term commodity trading strategies through a blend of fundamental and quantitative analysis. The role also involves close collaboration with portfolio managers to refine trade ideas and generate actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop short-, medium-, and long-term commodity strategies using both fundamental and quantitative approaches
Work closely with portfolio managers to improve trade execution and deliver meaningful market insights
Produce high-quality research content on commodity fundamentals, including quarterly letters, blog posts, and academic-style publications
Translate complex data into clear, actionable intelligence and provide thought leadership across the investment team
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing timely market updates and insights
Monitor global financial markets, macroeconomic indicators, and geopolitical developments to identify opportunities and assess risks
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a cross-commodity research role
Strong academic credentials, ideally in a quantitative or economics-related discipline
Proficiency in a high-level programming language, preferably Python or R
