Semiconductor Investment Analyst – Long/Short Hedge Fund

We are working on behalf of a top-tier long/short equity hedge fund specializing in technology and semiconductor investments is seeking a talented Semiconductor Investment Analyst. This role will be part of a high-performance team focused on identifying investment opportunities within the semiconductor sector through rigorous fundamental research.

The fund has a very high barrier for entry, so is keen to see people from top educational and professional backgrounds with a keen interest for investing in public companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research & Analysis: Conduct detailed research on semiconductor companies, including manufacturers and suppliers, analysing financials, management quality, and competitive landscape.

  • Idea Generation: Develop high-conviction, long and short investment ideas with clear data-driven theses for portfolio consideration.

  • Market Monitoring: Track industry trends, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic factors impacting the sector.

  • Financial Modelling: Build and maintain financial models to project company performance and assess risk.

  • Collaboration: Communicate insights effectively to portfolio managers and work closely with the research team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years in equity research or investment analysis, ideally focused on semiconductors; hedge fund experience preferred.

  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the semiconductor industry and competitive dynamics.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced financial modelling and valuation expertise, with proficiency in Bloomberg, Capital IQ, etc.

  • Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong quantitative analysis skills and the ability to present complex ideas effectively.

  • Education: Bachelor’s in finance, economics, engineering, or related field; CFA or MBA preferred.
