Equity Analyst (European Aerospace & Defence) – L/S Hedge Fund

We have recently been instructed by a major L/S Equities hedge fund, who are looking to expand their investment team with the addition of an equity analyst. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying compelling long and short investment opportunities across a universe of European defence names, with a focus on generating actionable insights that translate into profitable investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct deep fundamental research on defence companies, including financial analysis, industry dynamics, and competitive positioning

• Build and maintain detailed financial models to value companies and forecast performance

• Generate original investment theses and present them to the portfolio management team

• Monitor existing positions and provide timely updates on thesis developments

• Establish and maintain relationships with industry experts, company management, and other market participants

Key Requirements:

• 3-5 years of relevant equity research experience

• You must have shorting experience

• Strong track record of generating alpha through fundamental research

• Excellent financial modelling and valuation skills

• Superior analytical abilities and attention to detail
