Indian economist- Global Macro Hedge Fund- Hong Kong

We are currently working on behalf of a leading Global Macro Hedge Fund based in Hong Kong who are looking to bring an onboard an experienced macroeconomist who has in-depth coverage of India. The team are very collaborative and this role is a chance to get very close to the investment process and influence investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead macroeconomic research on India

• Identify and analyse key economic trends, monetary policies, and geopolitical events impacting the region.

• Develop clear, actionable reports to guide the firm’s investment strategies.

• Support coverage on the wider ASEAN Region

• Act as a thought leader, presenting insights and forecasts to portfolio managers and stakeholders.

• Contribute to the development of global macroeconomic frameworks that support trading strategies.

Key Requirements:

• MSc or PhD in Economics or related field

• 5-10 years’ experience covering India from a macro perspective

• Proven experience in a central bank, sell-side/buy-side institution, or international organization.

• Exceptional analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into compelling insights.
