Senior Policy Advisor – Director Level - New York

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Policy Advisor at the Director level for a prestigious global advisory firm in New York. Our client base includes senior decision-makers in major corporate, investment, and sovereign entities. The firm specializes in managing political, regulatory, and sanctions risks.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of direct experience in a strategic consultancy role advising global corporates on geopolitical events.

  • At least 8-10 years of director-level experience in US foreign policy, preferably within a government role.

  • Proven experience managing relationships with corporate clients seeking advice on the impacts of foreign policy and political developments.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise global corporates and investment firms on the impact of geopolitical events.

  • Play a crucial role in our multi-client service focused on US foreign policy, domestic politics, and the economy.

  • Participate in the industrial policy practice, guiding clients on the increasing role of state intervention in international economic policy, including trade and sanctions.

  • Utilize a unique network of professionals from intelligence, diplomacy, government, investment strategy, industry, and academia to identify risks and opportunities for clients.

  • Produce detailed research reports and strategic briefings.

  • Counsel sovereign and corporate clients on how foreign policy and political developments affect their goals and exposures.

  • Direct long-term strategic planning, develop partnerships, and offer tailored solutions to mitigate risk and promote client interests.

  • Manage client relationships and oversee the production of deliverables, including policy insights, legal advice, and strategic guidance for C-Suite clients.

  • Analyze international political and policy developments, providing bespoke advice aligned with clients' short-term objectives and long-term strategies.

  • Draft policy notes, speeches, talking points, and background briefings on a wide range of topics.

  • Assist clients in building internal capacities for management, public speaking, speechwriting, and communications.
