Portfolio Manager (L/S Global Healthcare Equities) – Boutique Hedge Fund, London

Our client is a leading boutique hedge fund who are looking to hire a senior analyst or junior PM to inherit a book of global healthcare equities. The position would suit an experienced professional with a strong track record of performance within healthcare equities, who is now looking for a new seat with a clearly defined pathway to a senior money-management position.

You will join a lean team led by a seasoned portfolio manager with a superior track record of performance. The group have produced double digit returns so far this year and have outperformed peers with similar strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, a passion for the healthcare industry, and the ability to make informed investment decisions. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior portfolio managers, with a view to progress to a senior money management position in a highly meritocratic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management and monitoring of healthcare equity positions.

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of healthcare companies, including financial modeling, valuation, and competitive analysis.

  • Generate investment ideas and provide recommendations to senior portfolio managers.

  • Investment strategy development, including Idea Generation, Due Diligence, Stock Selection

  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting the healthcare sector.

  • Participate in meetings with company management, industry conferences, and other events to gather insights and inform investment decisions.

  • Collaborate with the research team to develop sector-specific investment strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, CFA) is a plus.

  • 5+ years’ experience as a buyside Equity Analyst, with a focus on healthcare equities

  • Experience in Long / Short equities, whilst not required, would be highly advantageous.

  • A demonstrable interest in public markets investments, and a passion for healthcare equities.
