Portfolio Manager (L/S Global Healthcare Equities) – Boutique Hedge Fund, London
Our client is a leading boutique hedge fund who are looking to hire a senior analyst or junior PM to inherit a book of global healthcare equities. The position would suit an experienced professional with a strong track record of performance within healthcare equities, who is now looking for a new seat with a clearly defined pathway to a senior money-management position.
You will join a lean team led by a seasoned portfolio manager with a superior track record of performance. The group have produced double digit returns so far this year and have outperformed peers with similar strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, a passion for the healthcare industry, and the ability to make informed investment decisions. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior portfolio managers, with a view to progress to a senior money management position in a highly meritocratic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the management and monitoring of healthcare equity positions.
Conduct thorough research and analysis of healthcare companies, including financial modeling, valuation, and competitive analysis.
Generate investment ideas and provide recommendations to senior portfolio managers.
Investment strategy development, including Idea Generation, Due Diligence, Stock Selection
Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting the healthcare sector.
Participate in meetings with company management, industry conferences, and other events to gather insights and inform investment decisions.
Collaborate with the research team to develop sector-specific investment strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, CFA) is a plus.
5+ years’ experience as a buyside Equity Analyst, with a focus on healthcare equities
Experience in Long / Short equities, whilst not required, would be highly advantageous.
A demonstrable interest in public markets investments, and a passion for healthcare equities.
