Asia Economist - Hedge Fund- Hong Kong

We are representing a top-tier hedge fund based in Hong Kong, actively seeking a skilled Asia Economist to join their dynamic team. This role focuses on the diverse economies across Asia, excluding China and Japan. Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive economic analysis and monitor trends in Asian markets (excluding China and Japan), with particular focus on countries like South Korea, Taiwan, and those in Southeast Asia.

• Generate detailed research reports and analyses to inform and support investment strategies.

• Keep abreast of macroeconomic developments, monetary policies, and geopolitical events that affect the region.

• Collaborate closely with the investment team to develop strategies based on your economic insights.

Role Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in economic research, specifically focused on Asian markets.

• Currently based in Hong Kong with valid work authorization.

• Proven background in economic research from sell-side, buy-side, or central banking environments.

• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and produce high-quality reports.

• A PhD in Economics is preferred; however, candidates with a Master’s degree will be considered.

• Ability to adapt quickly and cover various countries and regions within Asia.

• Strong analytical skills with a keen interest in understanding economic dynamics.
