L/S Equity Analyst (EU Generalist) – Boutique Hedge Fund, London

We have recently been instructed by a boutique hedge fund, who are looking to expand their investment team with the addition of an equity analyst.

The group adopt a value-oriented investment philosophy and currently oversee $800mn in AUM deployed across a concentrated European equities portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough financial analysis and build robust financial models to identify investment opportunities

• Perform detailed company research, including analysis of financial statements, business models, and competitive landscapes

• Present well-researched investment ideas to the team

• Monitor existing portfolio positions and industry trends

• Collaborate with team members in a flat organizational structure

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of investment analysis experience (buy-side or sell-side)

• Strong financial modelling skills and fundamental analysis capabilities

• Solid understanding of accounting principles

• Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn across multiple sectors

• Critical thinking and ability to develop independent investment theses

• Comfort working in a small team environment

• Humility and awareness of knowledge limitations

• Ability to adapt to different industries and draw insightful connections
