Systematic Equity Portfolio Manager - London

My client, a leading hedge fund based in London, is seeking a Systematic Equity Portfolio Manager to join their high-performing team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with a renowned Portfolio Manager in a role that combines execution, optimisation, and strategic growth.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in deploying and optimising systematic strategies while building credibility and trust with the PM. Over time, this role offers the potential to influence the broader strategy directly, making it an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in systematic equity strategies and a desire to grow within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and optimise systematic equity strategies, ensuring signals are effectively deployed.

  • Own the portfolio construction process, balancing precision and adaptability to align with the PM’s vision.

  • Build trust with the PM through consistent delivery and clear, concise communication.

  • Collaborate closely with the PM to adapt strategies to evolving market conditions and priorities.

  • Bring expertise in quantamental strategies to enhance portfolio outcomes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 5–10 years’ experience in systematic equity strategies, with a proven track record of running and deploying strategies (not just researching).

  • Quantamental Expertise: Strong background in quantamental approaches, with an understanding distinct from pure statistical arbitrage.

  • Portfolio Construction Skills: Demonstrated ability to own and manage the portfolio construction process effectively.

  • Communication: Confident, precise, and articulate communicator capable of engaging with a fast-paced, idea-driven PM. Must be self-aware, humble, and eager to learn.

  • Adaptability: Thrives in an environment where priorities shift quickly and can adjust strategies seamlessly.

This is a rare opportunity to work alongside a highly respected Portfolio Manager at one of London’s leading hedge funds. The role offers significant potential for growth, with the chance to influence strategy as trust and credibility are built.
