Equity Analyst Paid Internship– Emerging Markets Asset Manager
Our client is a dynamic and growing emerging markets asset manager who currently oversee £1.5 billion in assets under management.
The group are currently looking to hire a motivated Intern to join the investment team to assist in coverage of MENA equities. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the financial services industry within an exciting and fast-paced environment.
The internship length is flexible, ranging from 6 months up to 1 year, and our client is open to part-time working arrangements to accommodate current students.
The ideal candidate would have some foundational experience in fundamental equity analysis – preferably having recently completed an internship at another asset manager, bank, or hedge fund. Whilst candidates are expected to have a demonstrable interest in equity research and analysis, we note that there is no specific requirement to have expertise in any particular industry sector, including emerging markets.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in asset management, with the potential to convert to a full-time role upon completion. All previous position holders have converted to full time positions, and the most recent candidate who did so was recently hired by Marshall Wace – highlighting our client’s commitment to in-work training, learning and development.
Role Responsibilities:
Assist in analysing emerging market trends, financial data, and macroeconomic developments.
Support investment research processes with a focus on MENA financials equities.
Prepare and update presentations, reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in portfolio monitoring and performance analysis.
Collaborate with senior team members on special projects and ad hoc research assignments.
Stay informed on financial market developments and provide relevant updates to the team.
Role Requirements
Currently enrolled in, or having recently completed an undergraduate or master’s degree. The position is open to all disciplines.
You must have a demonstrable interest in financial markets, fundamental equity analysis and stock picking.
A foundational level of experience in financial services is essential. The ideal candidate will have already completed an internship, or other such insight programme in financial services – preferably with exposure to equities at a hedge fund, asset manager, or bank.
Candidates should have a basic understanding of financial modelling techniques, with the ability to discern and interpret models.
Candidates with an interest in or exposure to MENA equities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Arabic language skills, whilst not required, would be highly advantageous.
You must be currently based in the UK, holding work authorisation for the duration of the scheme.
This is a paid internship scheme, and candidates will be compensated commensurate with experience. Our client is flexible on working time arrangements and can offer both full and part time work.
